As a company that aims to spread awareness about women’s empowerment and women’s rights around the world, we are proud to announce that we are now among the members of the Women in Technology Foundation (Wtech). Wtech was founded with the goal of strengthening Turkey’s global competitiveness in the field of technology by helping increase the number of individuals who are experts in their field, especially women. Our goals align in this manner, and we are excited to start supporting their activities towards achieving this goal.
In line with adesso’s global efforts, we, too, have been working to reshape the male-dominated leadership. Currently, 20% of adesso Turkey’s management team comprises of women. We believe it’s important to be aware of the benefits of gender diversity in the workplace. For example, research shows that companies with greater gender diversity are more successful, meaning their profits are high, they’re more productive and innovative. For innovation to happen, it’s crucial that not everyone thinks exactly the same way, and diversity provides the needed interaction of different opinions and personalities.
At adesso, we believe that it is important to be aware of the benefits of gender diversity in the workplace, to not miss out on people’s talents, and the power of a more balanced workplace because every good idea requires a collective effort and different perspectives from all. In Turkey, when it comes to people working in the field of technology, only 9.99% are women.
