The Disaster Solidarity Mentorship Program, a joint initiative by adesso Turkey and SistersLab - Women in Science and Technology Association, has won the Collaboration Award at the 7th annual Ibrahim Bodur Social Entrepreneurship Awards. The program prepares university students who were affected by the February 6 earthquakes in Turkey for software careers.
adesso Turkey received its recognition at the prestigious award ceremony that took place on June 8, 2023, in Istanbul. The award was accepted by Internal & Corporate Communications Senior Specialist Harun Demircioğlu and Digital Media Specialist Eylül Türkyılmaz from adesso Turkey's Marketing Communications Team, and SistersLab founders Merve Güngör and Nihal Güngör.
The Collaboration Category at the Ibrahim Bodur Social Entrepreneurship Awards recognizes projects aiming for social or environmental impact. The projects can be developed in partnership with the public or private sectors, non-governmental organizations, or social initiatives. The selection committee of the award program evaluated a total of 240 applications for the Early Stage, Advanced Stage, Collaboration, and Youth categories, before coming to a final decision.
The recent recognition highlights adesso Turkey's continued commitment to social impact beyond its software engagement. The company’s efforts related to the February 6 earthquakes are not only limited to the mentorship program. There are other ongoing projects, which include employee volunteering, disaster committees, and various initiatives focused on housing, employment, education, children’s welfare, and psychological support in disaster-stricken areas.
